Protect Habitat!
While adult snook can flourish in rivers, bays, along beaches or on off-shore reefs, juveniles must have specific habitat in order to survive and mature. From 1973 to 1996. Florida’s Atlantic Coast mangrove shield declined by more than 39 percent and the Gulf Coast lost 26 percent. A definite correlation exists between declining populations of juvenile snook and rapidly disappearing tidal creeks, mangrove overhang and seagrass meadows. Find out [link2] as an individual.
